Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her initial roles on Broadway include the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Her performance on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of acclaimed actors and directors in stage films and television. The award-winning actress continues her career with her upcoming projects. Ashford's next venture will be a limited edition Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film will be released on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The same team that created Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at leading the show. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. In two seasons, Ashford was the main character of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway roles for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded a Tony Award nomination. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and grew up there.
